As many of you may be aware, the east coast got some crazy weather this weekend. I worked until 2:30 on Friday and it was pouring rain and crazy windy. After driving home I parked in my garage spot and ran from the garage to my condo. My leggings had gotten wet just from running across the small parking lot and as soon as I got inside I began peeling my wet leggings off. I could already feel the itch starting! I changed into dry comfy pants, but it was too late the itching had already begun!
Thankfully this itching episode didn’t last as long as my post shower episodes do, but it still sucked.
Aquagenic Pruritus isn’t all that common, so there’s not a whole lot known about it. Imagine my surprise when I came across a YouTube video of a girl talking about her AP!
It was just a little over a month ago when I discovered Niah Selway, a YouTube vlogger from England, who has a severe case of AP. I was amazed that there was someone openly talking about their struggle with AP, and I was filled with hope because for the first time I was seeing someone who was seeking and demanding answers to this crazy condition. I reached out to Niah via email and actually received a response! It was so cool to connect with someone who actually understands!
I’ll include the link to Niah's YouTube page in case anyone’s interested in hearing what she deals with (her condition is much more severe than mine)!
Switching topics now; I absolutely LOVE being a nanny and could not imagine a more perfect job. Prior to this past October I was working 4 days a week for the last 6 years. Since October I’ve been working 5 days a week, which I realize is basically the norm, but I’m still not used to it. By the time Friday rolls around I’m absolutely exhausted, physically and emotionally. I imagine that has a lot to do with my lupus, but it is what it is.
So now it’s time for me to shower, have a painful itching episode, then go to bed!
